Hi, I’m Gabriella Armstrong

I love watching students gain confidence when they begin to develop positive habits and work skills. I love sharing my expertise with learning differences, including: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, spectrum, giftedness and 2E! As these students learn about themselves and begin to understand the gift of perceiving and taking in information differently, they also begin to feel the excitement and energy of growth. Come grow with me!

I believe that tutoring isn't just a profession, for me it’s a mission to help the people of tomorrow achieve their potential.

Qualification and teaching methodology

Background

I am a Certified Life Coach who specializes in Executive Function coaching and academic advancement through academic mastery and work skill development. I am a certified Math and Reading Instructor, and I have helped hundreds of people improve their ability and outcome.  I strive every day to bring inspiration and integrity, and I am driven to help guide as many bright, prepared people into our future as I can.  I have been called a “whisperer.” I love communicating and guiding beings to the next level. When I’m not coaching students and their families, I’m coaching canines and their families. I live to grow and watch others blossom. Come grow with me!

Experience

I began tutoring and peer counseling in High School and kept at it all the way through college. In 2011, I became a certified Life Coach and launched College Exponent. From 2013 to 2023,  I ran a Kumon Math and Reading center.  During that time, I used the Kumon curriculum to guide students to develop executive function skills. I also found effective ways to help my students experience the joys of cognitive development. Now, I integrate my coaching and tutoring skills, and I have special expertise in helping learning difference students understand themselves better, and learn efficiently so that they can enjoy more life and experience less struggle.

Methodology

Learning is more about developing great habits and understanding our physiological needs for learning than it is about the subject matter. For example, a student who habitually (and frequently subconsciously as a result of the habit) reads every word on the page will naturally accomplish more in less time than a student who doesn’t yet have a habit of reading everything in front of them.  Through a careful system of interviews and assessments, a student can find where they are, create growth goals, and then work to meet those goals.
